Starting Apex Home Inspections has been a long-held dream of mine. I’m thrilled to bring my diverse background and expertise to serve Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas, providing thorough and reliable home inspections to meet all your needs.
Growing up on a cattle farm in Northwest Georgia, I was naturally exposed to hard work and practical skills. This foundation was further developed by my involvement in my father’s residential contractor business, which introduced me to the world of construction from a young age. Balancing farm duties with job site experience, I developed a solid work ethic and hands-on skills that I rely on every day.
My college years were spent at Kansas State University where I was a high jumper on the Track and Field team while studying agricultural economics and business marketing. After a successful career of college athletics, (Multiple Top 10 Big 12 finishes) I used my degree to become a Series 3 licensed commodity broker doing financial risk management for large agribusiness food and meat companies.
After several years working behind a desk, I realized that my true passion lay in returning to my roots with hands-on, construction-focused work that involves direct interaction with clients and minimal time spent in an office. Seeking a career that aligned with these goals, I spent three years as a Systems Design Specialist for a foundation repair company in Kansas City. In this role, I designed and sold a range of products, from structural piers to basement waterproofing systems. Conducting structural inspections sparked my interest in general home inspections, leading me to explore it as a promising career path.
My wife soon after got accepted into a residency program at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City giving me an opportunity to pursue home inspections as a career. I have spent the last two years inspecting homes for a larger franchise-based inspection company learning the architecture and systems specific to Utah and gaining the knowledge needed to provide my customers the best possible report.
Outside of work I am an avid outdoor enthusiast. My main hobbies are bike racing, skiing, camping, flyfishing, and golfing. My wife, Megan, and I have loved living in Utah and enjoying all the recreational opportunities right at our back door.
